Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.
One of the things I miss the most of living in Italy is Winter. I miss the cold on my bare face while I walk along the little streets of my town. I miss the dark of this little alleys and the warm light of the street lamps. I miss the squares full of people, out and about in celebration. Despite the freezing conditions, people still love to gather and share moments together. I miss that. I miss it because, even though it’s cold outside, it feels warm.
The Lantern Parade feels exactly the same. It’s cold and dark outside, yet it’s warm and bright. 🙂
Happy Winter Solstice from the Hills!
