Last month I submitted this photo for the ‘Love the Hills’ Art Competition by Stockdale & Leggo Real Estate in Emerald, Vic.
The theme was to submit an artwork that described the beauty of the life in the Hills. The aim of the Competition was to have a little exhibition and select 12 finalists for a 2017 Calendar, whose founds would go to the local MND Motor Neurone Disease Association of Victoria.
This photo was taken from Mt Dandenong overlooking the city of Melbourne at night. In the foreground, are visible the silhouettes of a couple of lovers and native Gum trees. What’s incredible for me in this photo is how many stars are visible in the sky despite the light pollution of the City lights. It’s something quite special. and I really feel blessed to be able to live near a place with such an amazing view. Here we are so close to a big city, yet far enough to feel completely surrounded by nature.
All the artworks submitted are currently part of a little exhibition at the Old Emerald Bakery in Emerald, Vic, including my picture! I have to admit, it was really exciting to see one of my photos exposed in a gallery among other amazing artworks! This is my very first exhibition, and I’m so happy i got the chance to expose locally.
Here are some more artworks in the exhibition:
